Asterisk is a free, software based, open source telephone system, capable of running efficiently on low speck hardware, thus requiring very little initial outlay to get a reliable, functional system up and running. Its fall over capability keeps you running and when used with ATA’s can be intergrate seamusly with your current infrastructure. After the initial install Asterisk and when combined with FreeBPX it’s easily managed with out the need for in depth technical knowlage.
On top of this your ongoing maintenance costs will plummet. Where previously you would have required a separate wired infrastructure for your telecommunications, Asterisk allows you to utilise your existing IP infrastructure, massively reducing the cost of office installations, and increasing the ease and speed at with they can occur. You can even use computer based ‘soft phones’ reducing the cost of additional handsets to zero, and calls between separate offices become free.
You also no longer need to be bound to one telecoms provider. You can not only send your telecoms over a conventional copper or ISDN line, but also over SIP trunks. Sip Trunks work over your internet conection meaning you can have more addition lines from additional suppliers at minimal additional cost.

Business Flexibility
Another grate advantage of one of my Asterisk SIP solutions is the flexibility it can offer business users. Anywhere with an internet connection can use a SIP phone connected to your phone system. You can work from abroad and still answer your office number without additional call fees. Conference calling the office from home would cost nothing.
The server its self is also not location dependant. If you use one of our hosted Asterisk solutions you wont need any hardware or a place to store it. Keeping it working becomes our problem to! If you prefer to keep your own hardware and what to move office you can just move the server. No need to worry about notifying providers or retaining your old numbers. It all just moves with you.
